The Ace Of Spades

The World Tour for Guitar Hero is gearing up. Activision has recruited MC5’s Wayne Kramer, Motörhead, and The Sex Pistols to redo some of their big hits for Guitar Hero World Tour. MC5\'s Kick Out The Jams, the Pistol\'s song Pretty Vacant, and Motorhead\'s Overkill will all be remixed for the upcoming game. Although many original band members were involved in remixing the tracks, Kick Out The Jams did get a little help from Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains and one time Guns N’ Roses rhythm guitarist Gilby Clark. The soundtrack to Guitar Hero World Tour is becoming more and more intriguing and we can\'t wait to play.

Pure Adrenaline

Purity is the mark of virtue, but there’s nothing puritanical about getting down and dirty. On the dirt-strewn tracks of Disney’s new racing game, Pure that is. A demo for the game goes live today on both the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo consists of Italy’s Mount Garda track where riders compete in three laps against 15 AI competitors. This game was named Best Racing Game at E3 this year. It’s definitely worth checking out.

A Trial Worth Watching

The Watchmen will fight their biggest battle on January 6th, 2009. No, that\'s not the release date of the movie and they won\'t be fighting any supervillain. That\'s when the legal battle between Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. finally goes to court. The heart of the legal battle concerns that Fox once held the rights to distribute a Watchmen film. Warner Bros. says the rights were bought out, but Fox says uh-uh. And now it\'s going to take some guy in black robes to sort this one out. Good thing it\'s not being presided over by Judge Dredd. The Watchmen film is set to open next March, but Fox is asking for an injunction preventing the release. Let\'s hope they work it out soon.

In The Shell

Are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ready to appear in the flesh once again? Ninja Turtles co-creator Mike Eastman is talking to Imagi and Warner Bros. about a possible live action movie. The idea is to relaunch the characters, just like Batman Begins. The last live-action Turtles flick was 1993\'s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Turtles In Time, also a great game, by the way. Nothing is confirmed yet, but we like how this is sounding. But if we hear one word about Vanilla Ice appearing, we\'re out of here, dude.

Zack And Miri are making waves once again with a new red band trailer. We’d like to show you more of the new Kevin Smith film, Zack And Miri Make A Porno, but let’s just say the trailer is not ready for primetime. Needless to say, it features everything you love about Kevin Smith, sex and Star Wars. What could be better?

Big Brother Is Watching

Could Big Brother be operating in the guise of Microsoft? Well, maybe it’s not quite the Orwellian dystopia of 1984 or even THX 1138, but Microsoft is trying to improve upon current online age gates by proposing the use of digital identity cards. The big hurdle is how to upgrade identity authentication without compromising privacy.
