Beijing 2008
Pros
• Great graphics
• Online play added
• 36 events
|
Cons
• Unresponsive, poorly designed controls
• If you have to press the skip button three times between play, it's not really skipping, is it?
• High difficulty level
• Why can't we get real records and real atheletes?

Bottom Line
We'd rather play Konami's old Track & Field game. |
"Games based on the Olympics have always been pretty weak, but this time I've finally snapped. Would you buy a football game if it had none of the real players in it? Or didn't offer all the teams (read: countries)? And here's something that whoever makes London 2012 should dwell hard upon: are the majority of people who would play a game based on the Olympics more casual gamers, or hardcore? In Beijing 2008, the controls are very awkward, you are given a tiny window to use them even on the easiest setting, and they don't respond too well, no matter how hard you pound them. Nice graphics and 36 events don't mean a thing if there's just no fun to be had."
