Fable II Pub Games

Pros

• Winnings can be transferred to Fable II
• Unlocks Fable concept art
• Three very original gambling games

Cons

• Games rely a lot on chance as opposed to skill
• Just three games

Bottom Line

Cool concept, though those three games are probably an acquired taste.

Reviews

"I love this idea. While we wait for Fable II, here's a collection of three gambling games. The money you accumulate in the game can be transferred over to Fable II when it launches. And so, apparently, is the debt. Two of the three games are quite original too. Spinnerbox is like a slot machine and is probably the most recognizable game. Keystone is a combination of craps and roulette, and the most complex (still don't quite get it, to be honest). Fortune's Tower is my favourite. In this game you lay down eight rows of cards, accepting or rejecting the dealer's bid after every round, in a kind of Fable-ized version of Deal or No Deal. It should be understood that chance plays a large part of these games. Yeah, they're gambling games so no duh, but it would be nice to apply more strategy beyond weighing odds. But I am willing to give Pub Games some slack over the concept of having consequences in Fable II (let's see how this plays out). Let's hope this concept gets expanded on for other games."
