Reviews

"If NHL 2K9 had the polish and depth of the 360 version PLUS the Wii controls, there's no question it would be a phenomenon among hockey fans. The motion controls actually work--no kidding--and really make it feel like you're going for a slapshot or a nice crunchy blue line check. Sadly, the super-dooper graphics of the other versions make the plain blurry visuals of the Wii version awfully hard to live with, as does the lack of online play. It's a pretty good game in some respects, the ability to play as the goalie from start to finish is actually pretty inventive, as are other features (drive the Zamboni! At last!), but at best NHL 2K9 for Wii is more of a nice alternative than THE hockey game. "
