The Princess Bride Game

Pros

• 5 different games in one
• You can tackle four of the five episodes in any order
• Features several voices from the cast of the movie
• Strong animation and production values

Cons

• None of the games are very well done
• Cel-shaded graphics for a hidden object game is not a good idea
• Some of the trivia questions seem devoid of both purpose and humor

Bottom Line

It looks good, but for each of its five game types, there's a much better game you could be playing.

Reviews

"The Princess Bride Game has really high production values for a casual game... and how many casual games do you know that actually have the voice of Mandy Patinkin? It's unfortunate that such effort is wasted on such mediocrity. The Princess Bride game has five episodes with a different game type each: time management, trivia, a simple platformer, hidden object and an object application phase. Sounds great, but taken individually these mini-games just can't stand up to even some of the okay time management/hidden object games out there. After its animation and looks, the game has exactly one good idea: you actually have to click on hidden objects in the cutscenes. Somebody steal this idea and put it to better use. I'll cut it a little slack for its animation and use of the movie's script, but unless you are Princess Bride fanatic, there are games more worthy of your time."
