Imagine: Rock Star

Pros

• Appealing to younger children
• Very easy
• Four instruments to choose from
• Customizable avatar

Cons

• Limited song choice
• Some confusing direction during the story mode

Bottom Line

Will be a hit with young children, but anyone older will want to move on to a more sophisticated music game.

Reviews

"Recognizing that I am not the target audience for Imagine: Rock Star, I am stepping back and turning to an expert, my 7-year old niece Michelle. She likes music games but finds Rock Band and Guitar Hero too hard. Imagine: Rock Star, on the other hand, is much more her speed. She says says that it's much easier to play the guitar, which is done by stroking the touchscreen along multicoloured bands. She particularly likes going shopping for clothes, which can be used to customize your avatar. Her 9-year old sister Megan, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be as interested and has moved up to Rock Band. If this is any indication, it looks like Imagine: Rock Star might be good training wheels for girls interested in music games, but aren't quite ready to five star Through the Fire & Flames."
