My Weight Loss Coach

Pros

• Cute rewards
• Guides the player right from loading
• Lots of different challenges
• Manages activity and food
• Comes with a pedometer

Cons

• Annoying Japanese RPG-style scrolling text
• Presentation can be boringly simple
• No real way to make sure the player is cooperating

Bottom Line

A cute little tool to prompt a healthy lifestyle, although someone who is really serious about weight loss probably needs something more sophisticated.

Reviews

"My Weight Loss Coach should not be considered a game, but an application. It's a good introductory tool to weight loss, holding the player's hand from pretty much the time they power up the DS. It comes with a pedometer to measure some physical activity, although the software has few ways of determining whether you really do the activities it suggests. But if you take MWLC seriously, it has a lot to offer. It measures physical activity versus food consumption and has lots of tips for beginners. Wii Fit is much better overall for people who want to get healthier, but MLWC makes for a decent start."
