Wii Music

Pros

• Teaches many musical concepts
• Great for beginners
• Huge variety of instruments
• Extremely easy to play

Cons

• Game modes are very light
• Lack of structure hurts the game as a teaching tool

Bottom Line

A nice idea, but think of it more as a big fancy soundboard then a game.

Reviews

"I have mixed feelings about Wii Music. On the one hand, it is very impressive they squeezed all of those instruments in there, and it is fun to bang madly away at them... for awhile. But Wii Music's lack of structure sometimes hurts its potential to both entertain and educate. The game modes aren't particularly involving or complex, so they will lose all but the most basic gamer. Many parts of the game could help teach music, but it isn't particularly organized so you'd probably need a music teacher on hand to really understand what's being put across. Wii Music is probably best looked at as a good introductory music activity program for kids or absolute beginners."
