Shadow Assault Tenchu

Pros

• Trap effects can be quite comical
• Mix of action and strategy
• Four person play

Cons

• Unnecessary time limits
• Level architecture sometimes obscures your own player... and your own traps

Bottom Line

A different (and so-so) take on Tenchu.

Reviews

"As I've stated on many occasions, the Tenchu series has the potential to be great, but has only managed "Good", and usually "Mediocre." The problem? A lack of focused identity. And now someone has done a version of Tenchu, Bomberman style, so the problem isn't going to correct itself any time soon. In Shadow Assault, you run around the map picking up traps and placing them in the paths of enemies, while trying to stay out of site. It's extremely simple, and probably too shallow for Tenchu fans. It feels more like a minigame you'd find attached to a full release. But you know, I liked it more than Tenchu Z."
